In 2012, Adam found himself at a critical crossroad in life. Weighing nearly 350 pounds and struggling with multiple addictions, chronic diseases, and mental health disorders, his life nearly ended when he attempted suicide by drug overdose. With the adoption of a plant-based diet and his family support, Adam began a path that led him to lose 175 pounds and reverse his chronic diseases, permanently. Now, Adam is a nutrition, insulin resistance, and addiction researcher / expert as well as a highly sought-after international speaker. He has worked with some of the most respected programs and companies in the health and wellness world including Whole Foods Market, PlantStrong, and Mastering Diabetes. He is the founder of Plant-Based for Positive Change, a nonprofit organization that led the first-ever clinical trial investigating the effects of a nutrient-dense, plant-based dietary intervention on early addiction recovery outcomes. Adam has presented on some of the largest stages in the world for Google, The Food Revolution Summit, Plant-Stock, the Make Big Happen Summit, and Whole Foods Market’s Tribal Gathering, sharing compelling stories and science on the intersection of nutrition and human behavior.
